About NetReL

Networking Research Laboratory (NeTReL) is part of the Computer Science & Electrical Engineering Department at UMKC. Our research covers performance modeling, network design, network routing, network protection and restoration, protocols, optical networking, mobile computing, wireless networking, network security, network software, sensor networks, and so on. Many of our faculty have been supported by federal grants (NSF and DARPA) and industry contracts.

Professor Deep Medhi is co-author of two books, Routing, Flow, and Capacity Design in Communication and Computer Networks (2004) and Network Routing: Algorithms, Protocols, and Architectures (2007), both published by Morgan Kaufmann Publishers (an imprint of Elsevier). He coordinates the Networking Research Lab (NetReL) and his team conduct research on resilient network design, multilayer networking, network routing, network management, and future network architecture. His research team has produced over 100 peer-reviewed papers. Eight students have completed PhD under his supervision, and over 50 students have completed MS theses under him.
